PKS Distributes Basic Food Packages to People Affected by Covid-19
INTERNATIONAL | PEKANBARU, RIAU - After carrying out the red and white flag-raising ceremony at the Riau PKS DPTW office, Riau PKS DPW Chair Ahmad Tarmizi together with Secretary Syamsudin B and Treasurer Markarius Anwar, immediately moved to distribute basic food packages for people affected by Covid-19 at RT 02 RW 01 Rejo Village. Sari Sail District, Pekanbaru Riau (Tuesday, 17/8/2021).
The distribution of this assistance is in line with the instructions of the Chairman of the PKS Syuro Council, Dr. Salim, in the program to distribute 1.7 million basic food packages. Then this program was handed down to the management of DPW, DPD, DPC to DPRa PKS to be implemented.
The 1.7 million basic food packages are a program that was specifically distributed at the momentum of the 76th Indonesian Independence Day, which was distributed to all provinces in Indonesia, to ease the burden on people in need, especially those affected by COVID-19.
PKS Riau itself received the mandate to distribute 200 packages of basic necessities, followed by DPD PKS in each district/city in Riau Province. The basic food packages consist of rice, cooking oil, eggs, sardines, salt and sugar.
Mrs. Eva, one of the residents who received the basic food packages, thanked the Riau PKS DPW management who cared about her.
"Alhamdulillah, we as a family thank you, may Allah always give blessings to PKS," he said.
After finishing distributing the basic food packages, the Chairperson of the PKS DPW in his statement said that this program was a mandate to help relieve people in need, especially those affected by COVID-19 on Indonesia's 76th independence day.
"This is one part of the spirit of PKS service to this nation in filling Indonesia's independence," he said.
Meanwhile, Treasurer of the PKS Riau, Markarius Anwar, added that the DNA of the PKS party is to serve. Anytime, anywhere and under any conditions, without distinguishing one from another.
“Since this party was founded, PKS's goal has been clear, namely to serve the people. So, when the Covid-19 outbreak began from the start, PKS immediately moved quickly to help overcome and help the affected people," concluded the chairman of the PKS faction of the Riau DPRD.
