JAKARTA - The government has relaxed travel conditions for passengers on Java-Bali domestic flights. In its provisions, passengers may use an antigen test document with a negative statement H-1 before departure.


This requirement replaces the previous provision, in which passengers are required to show a negative test result for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. However, the antigen test document must include a certificate of the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine.


These requirements are stipulated in the regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 30 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the Java and Bali Regions.


In response to the decision, the United Garuda Indonesia Employees Union (Sekber) assessed that the legal subject of the regulation should also target passengers who have just received the first dose of vaccine certificate.




This is because PCR as one of the travel requirements for passengers who have just been vaccinated with the first dose is expensive. In fact, more expensive than the price of the plane ticket itself.


Garuda Indonesia Secretary Coordinator Tomy Tampatty said the government needed to reconsider the newly issued regulation.


"We really hope that the government will review the implementation of PCR on airplane passengers. If the PCR function detects Covid is the same as antigen, why is there a difference between airplane passengers and other modes of transportation, and this is quite high, the PCR price is even higher than the ticket price," said Tomy when met at the Ministry of SOEs area, Tuesday (10/8/2021).


According to him, unbalanced policies are another factor in the decline in airplane passengers.


"Plus the Covid condition, we really hope it will be reviewed again," he said.
