Independence Day Commemoration, TV One Performs Special Film “Wage”

This film is about the struggle of Wage Rudolf Supratman, the creator of the masterpiece of the national anthem Indonesia Raya.

Wage Rudolf Supratman, or better known as WR Supratman was born in Somongari, Purworejo, 19 March 1903. He participated in the struggle for independence through his works as a composer by composing the national anthem. In addition, young Wage also works as a journalist and book writer. 

Wage's enthusiasm to participate in the struggle led him to leave all luxuries and be involved in the national movement, in order to achieve independence. 

One of Wage's masterpieces was the anthem Indonesia Raya, which became the national anthem of Indonesia. The lyrics of this song are full of noble values ??of national identity. 

This song was first sung in conjunction with the Youth Pledge on October 28, 1928. During his work and struggle in the independence movement, young Wage also felt the cruelty of Dutch prisoners as a risk of his struggle.
