Ubuntu OS for Tablets Officially Introduced with Side-by-side Multitasking Features
INTERNATIONAL | TECHNOLOGY PRODUCTS - After introducing the Ubuntu smartphone some time ago, Canonical has now launched the Ubuntu operating system for tablets. With this launch, consumers will also get an additional variety of gadgets, especially gadgets with an open source-based OS.
This Ubuntu OS tablet also offers several features that are intended to be able to compete with Android tablets. The main thing is the multitasking feature by using features in the form of a side stage. This side stage contains applications with a format similar to that of a mobile phone. This section also takes up about a third of the screen.
As with Android Jelly Bean, Ubuntu for tablets is also equipped with multi-user features. In addition, there is also a Guest Mode feature. In addition, this tablet also has support for voice search.
For minimum specifications, the low Ubuntu tablet uses a dual core ARM Cortex A15 processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB internal memory and a 7-inch to 10-inch screen. As for high end tablets, you can use a quad core ARM Cortex A15 or Intel x86 processor, 4GB RAM, and 8GB of internal memory.
Furthermore, Canonical considers that high end Ubuntu tablets are suitable for screens measuring 10 to 12 inches. In addition, an Ubuntu-based tablet can also be used as a PC by adding a keyboard and tablet.
