Snack Products are Facing the Companies Business Decision
INTERNATIONAL | FOOD COMPANY - Famous snacks Cheetos, Lays, to Doritos will disappear from Indonesia this August. This announcement has actually been made since 6 months ago to be exact in February 2021.
The loss of Cheetos cs in the Indonesian market due to the ownership of the snack producer, PT Indofood Fritolay Makmur (IFL) has been purchased by PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk.
To note, the producer of Cheetos, Lays, and Doritos in Indonesia is PT Indofood Fritolay Makmur (IFL). The company can produce Cheetos cs because it is controlled by the owner of the snack brand, Fritolay Netherland Holding BV, an affiliate of PepsiCo.
Last February, all shares of PT Indofood Fritolay Makmur (IFL) were purchased by PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk. If all IFL shares are purchased by ICBP, the contract with PepsiCo will automatically be terminated.
The total shares purchased by ICBP reached Rp 494 billion or 49% of the total shares issued by IFL. Now, ICBP's share ownership in IFL is 99.99% of the total shares issued by IFL.
The termination of PepsiCo's contract with IFL caused PepsiCo to be prohibited from producing, packaging, selling, marketing or distributing any snack products in Indonesia. Including well-known brands in Indonesia, namely Cheetos, Lays, and Doritos.
